I am a lover of photography. However, I am only a
novice. Please, any comments, suggestions, or tips would be
greatly appreciated.Autumn Leaves

Autumn Moon

I should also make it clear that I am using the cheap-o digital
camera from work which has very few features on it. This means I
am unable to adjust the aperture or shutter speed settings. I
normally have my camera with me, but I left that one at home. I
saw the shot while walking past the window today and decided that I
could not wait until tomorrow to try again. – Who knows what it will
look like tomorrow.I should mention that the original subject was to be the leaves on
the tree (hence the first picture). I found the color to be
extraordinary, especially with the lighting of the setting sun.
However, once I saw that the moon was there, I figured I could include
that in the shot and make the shot a little more interesting (hence the
framing and shifted focus in the second picture). For the night shot, I realise that a tripod is in order. I
have one in my trunk – I’ll use it next time. I just wanted to
grab a shot before I went home.

Very nice!
The second has a better composition, cuz you’ve got the branch that comes over it, and it acts like a frame. But both are great!
Here’s a trade secret. If you want to make the moon look bigger, stand far away from the tree and then use a zoom lens. When the tree’s further away and then you zoom on the tree, the tree and the moon will appear closer to the same size (from your perspective), and thus post-zoom the moon will look bigger.
You need a good zoom lens to pull it off, though.
nice pictures!
